BACK-TO-BACK OSA and NWU Guidance Center IN ACTION

The Office of Student Affairs (OSA) and the NWU Guidance Center kicked off November by leading the First Monday Flag Ceremony and staging E-Kumustahan Series 6.2: “YOU MATTER” for student leaders. Ms. Alexandria Blace Cay Real-Pisalbo, RPm, a professor at the University of Northern Philippines (UNP) in Ilocos Sur, shared stress management techniques. Ms. Jocelyn Llamas discussed the Safe Spaces Act. Ms. Shirley A. Mariano-Bumanglag facilitated a session on effective communication in organizations. Ms. Agustina A. Dancel-Matias, DSA, led a workshop on leadership and explored its rewards and challenges as well as the importance of active global citizenship. Ms. Stephanie Jane Bonilla presented the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) based on insights from the Suro ken Serbi seminar and the PAPSAS Interactive Youth Forum 2024.

The organizers extend their gratitude to all the officers from the various college and department organizations and interest clubs for their overwhelming support, as well as to the deans and heads of the participating colleges.

PAPSAS Region 1 Oath-Taking Ceremony

PAPSAS Region 1 Leaders Take Oath: A Unified Commitment to Empowering SAS Practitioners and Championing Student Welfare and Development

The Philippine Association of Practitioners for Student Affairs and Services, Inc. (PAPSAS) Region I Executive Officers and Board of Directors held their Oath-Taking Ceremony on July 21, 2025. This milestone event marks the official recognition of PAPSAS Region I as the first regional association of SAS Practitioners.

The PAPSAS Region I officers were inducted by the esteemed CHED RO1 Regional Director, Dr. Christine Nabor-Ferrer, at the Commission on Higher Education Region I (CHEDRO I) Office in San Fernando, La Union. During the same event, Dr. Ferrer graciously accepted the role of Adviser of PAPSAS Region I.

Representing the newly sworn-in officers and present at the ceremony were:

2025 Midyear Interactive Youth Forum

We’re excited to officially launch the 2025 Midyear Interactive Youth Forum happening on September 17–19, 2025 at Summit Galleria Hotel, Robinsons Galleria Cebu, located at B. Benedicto Street, corner General Maxilom Avenue Extension, Cebu City.

With the theme “NextGen Leadership: Champions of Good Governance,” this three-day event will bring together student leaders, youth advocates, and changemakers from across the country for meaningful conversations, dynamic workshops, and collaborative initiatives that promote youth participation in nation-building.

Dr. Christine Nabor-Ferrer Appointed Adviser

Dr. Christine Nabor-Ferrer Officially Appointed as PAPSAS Region I Adviser

The Philippine Association of Practitioners for Student Affairs and Services (PAPSAS) Region I Chapter is honored to announce that Dr. Christine Nabor Ferrer, Regional Director of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Region I, has officially accepted her appointment as our Adviser.

The appointment of our CHEDRO Regional Director, Dr. Ferrer was expressed through Board Resolution No. 1 Series of 2025 which was unanimously approved and signed by PAPSAS Region I Executive Officers and members of the Board of Directors.

We extend our deepest gratitude to Dr. Ferrer for her commitment and full support to PAPSAS Region I. Her leadership and vision will undoubtedly strengthen our efforts in promoting and enhancing Student Affairs and Services throughout the region.

Grateful for a highly productive and successful 1st Face-to-face Regular Board Meeting of the Philippine Association of Practitioners for Student Affairs and Services, Inc. (PAPSAS) Region I, held on July 21, 2025.

PAPSAS Region 1 is the first regional association of SAS professionals and aims to build better and stronger SAS programs and practice with PAPSAS National and CHED/CHEDRO.

Our sincere gratitude to Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University, Mid-La Union Campus (DMMMSU-MLUC) for generously opening its doors as Host for this important occasion.
